Cost of Cosmetic Surgery Case Study

Trinidad Institute of Plastic Surgery offers package pricing for cosmetic procedures such as breast lifts and augmentations, tummy tucks, liposuction, nose reshaping, face lifting, eyelid tightening and many more.

The cost of a procedure is generally made up of several components – the surgeon’s fee, the anesthesiologist’s fee, the facility fee, costs of implants (e. g. in breast augmentation), inpatient stays in the facility/hospital. “Packages” just contain these factors under one umbrella.

As an example we consider the US market, which is the most expensive.

The American Society of Plastic Surgeons provided the following data for national average surgeon’s fees (not including facility or anesthesiologist or costs of implants) for common cosmetic procedures for 2007. In parenthesis are representative additional costs. The resulting package price is what a client would have to expect were our surgeons to perform these procedures in the US.

  • Breast augmentation – $3,816 (> $2700 facility fee/gel implants, > $400 anesthesiologist) – $6916.package
  • Breast lift – $4,236 (> $1700 facility, > $600 anesthesiologist) -  $6536. package
  • Eyelid surgery – $3,134 (> $1400 facility, > $500 anesthesiologist) -  $5034. package
  • Facelift – $5,031 (> $2500 facility, > $800 anesthesiologist) -  $8331.package
  • Nose reshaping – $3,833 (> 3000 facility, > $800 anesthesiologist) – $7633.package
  • Abdominoplasty – $5,264 (> 2500 facility, > $600 anesthesiologist) -  $8364. package

Trinidad Institute of Plastic Surgery provides these packages at approximately 50% of the cost in the US market, performed by US and European trained board certified plastic surgeons at accredited private hospitals.
